On the gift certificate the recipient will be given a special coupon code to use at checkout.

I will update gift certificate amounts and e-mail them to the recipient after each order. This way if you buy a large gift certificate they don't lose out if they don't need the entire amount right away. Since each code can only be used once they will be given a new code in the updated e-mail.
